This version is designed for amateur drivers and Audi promises low maintenance and acquisition costs (comparatively, it is understood). The debut of this model will be in the 24 hours of Nürburgring to be held between 25 and 28 May. The presentation of this model, designed to participate in the GT4 category, is no coincidence. From this year 2017 the GT4 will become international, with tests in North America, Asia, Australia and Europe, so the Ingolstadt brand has taken the opportunity to not go unnoticed. Not surprisingly, Audi Sport GmbH is one of the most important manufacturers of racing cars.
The Audi R8 LMS GT4 has in common with the R8 Coupe more than 60% of its elements and is produced in the same factory, located in Böllinger Höfe. The GT4 model will be developed to a power output of up to 364 kW (495 hp) - depending on the regulations - during the current season, before reaching final homologation for competition. The first units of this model are scheduled for delivery later this year.
Audi says it will use its worldwide service network for this model, so there will be no logistical problems for parts and professional support. And the price? That depends on the needs of each one...
