A new colour is added to the range, Mysterious Blue, and the 15, 16 and 17-inch wheels receive new designs. This way you can distinguish a 2013 Carens and a 2017 Carens. But inside the changes are more noticeable, as they are more relevant. There is time to think about it, because the Carens 2017 will not arrive in Spain until the end of the year, before other European markets have priority.
Both with five and seven seats upholstery are different. Firstly, we have a fabric upholstery, with a different weave, and two options in leather, either with diamond motif or in black. It has new inserts in metallic finish or gloss black, as well as a carbon fiber-like finish for the dashboard.
There are no changes in terms of engines, as they were already complying with Euro 6. However, for the 115 hp 1.7 CRDi engine there is an option for those who do more miles, called Eco Pack. It consists of longer gear ratios, low rolling resistance tires Michelin Energy Saver + and automatic engine shutdown at stops (ISG for Kia). This version is rated at less than 4.5 l/100 km and pays no registration tax.
The new infotainment system stands out, with a 7-inch touchscreen and integration with Android 5.0 or higher (Android Auto) or iPhone 5 or higher (Apple CarPlay) mobile phones. Added to these functions are TomTom connected navigation and rear view camera. Completing the technological line-up are the front camera that reads traffic signs, blind spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert (complements the rear camera).
