The BMW M2, with its 6-cylinder in line biturbo 3.0 liters of 370 hp and 500 Nm associated with the 6-speed manual transmission will cost 62,900 euros. The M2 will not be available in Spain until April 2016 and with it will be only 4 colors in its range: Alpinweiss (white), Black Sapphire (black), Mineralgrau (gray) and Long Beach Blue (blue).
The standard equipment includes Dakota leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front sports seats, 19" M light-alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights and BMW Professional multimedia system with 6.5" screen (Bluetooth, USB and HiFi sound). It also features rear parking distance control (PDC) and adaptive cruise control. BMW also offers Intelligent Emergency Call and a warranty extension to 3 years or 100,000km.
As expected, at 62,900 euros the BMW's price tag puts it squarely in the same segment and audience as the Mercedes AMG CLA 45 4Matic (63,150 euros). Not only will it try to fill the gap left by the 1M Coupé, but it aims to steal customers from Mercedes. Of course, there are also other options, such as the Porsche Boxster/Cayman duo (60,000 euros) and Audi TTS quattro (58,980 euros), but neither of these two options offer the same versatility as the BMW or Mercedes. Now, it's time to wait to test it.
