    The Tesla Model X is a large electric crossover, five meters long, very original, if not unique. Whatever element is taken into consideration, this car amazes with personal solutions and special effects, the most spectacular of which is the upward opening of the rear doors, called Falcon Wings. Another peculiarity is the huge windscreen, which extends over the front area of ​​the passenger compartment, making the environment very bright. The spacious and welcoming interior can accommodate up to seven people in three rows of seats. The dashboard is dominated by a 17” screen, through which almost everything is managed. The Model X is not only technological in appearance, but also in substance, with a rich set of driver assistance systems that has expanded and updated over time, in a process that does not stop thanks to continuous upgrades over- the air. In 2021, Tesla introduced a restyling that touched the front and the interior, with a horizontal orientation of the main touch screen and the transition to a steering wheel inspired by that of the gaming world. On the occasion, the powertrains were also refined. The Model X has four-wheel drive, obtained - as is the practice among electric cars - by placing motors on both the front and rear axles. To power them there are accumulators of different capacities, ranging from 75 to 100 kWh for the most common versions, called Long Range, Performance ex Plaid, for a declared range that can exceed 500 km. The Tesla Model X offers a high quality of life on board, thanks to the sum of many factors. The driver's seat is large, comfortable and well organized, like the whole passenger compartment in general. Another plus point is the performance. The Model X may be a big family car, but it goes incredibly fast, with the utmost naturalness. The best performing specimens outclass even the most famous sports cars in the shot. Less convincing are the ergonomics and the rear doors. The display concentrates a large number of functions, but it is a bit complicated to use because it does not have those intuitive commands and those tricks typical of other infotainment. The doors that lift up, on the other hand, are as scenic as they are impractical, since their movements are slow and the sensors that monitor opening require a lot of space around the car to give the OK to start the procedure.
    How is it going. When you start driving, the dimensions of the car body disappear almost immediately and this Tesla, more than anything else, gives the feeling of being well placed on the ground. Like its sedan sister, it is almost diabolical in disguising its mass: the batteries positioned on the bottom of the car contribute to lowering the center of gravity and, from a dynamic point of view, one soon forgets that this is a SUV weighing over two tons and half. Model X responds promptly to commands given by the driver, who manages everything through a rapid and progressive steering. And these good qualities never conflict with the reasons for comfort. The air suspension (standard) insulates well from the road and the silence, excluding high speeds, is not a problem: the engine does not exist (acoustically speaking) and the excellent aerodynamic profiling takes care of the rest. The performances are of the highest level, with accelerations worthy of a true sports car and pick-up which, at times, is even brutal.
    Please. Liveability on board. It's not just a question of space, which is ample and used well, but of quality of life, ensured by an elegant and well-organized passenger compartment. Performance. It may be a family crossover, but it's going incredibly strong.
    Defects. ergonomics can be improved. Almost all the car's functions refer to the large touch screen, but juggling the various menus isn't easy or intuitive. The rear doors are undoubtedly spectacular, but in order to be practical they need a lot of space around them.
