SEAT opens orders for the new Ibiza

The fifth generation Ibiza will be the first Volkswagen Group vehicle to incorporate the MQB A0 platform, intended for the group's B-segment models, and which will be the basis for the future Polo, Fabia and the future SEAT Arona SUV.

It will have four equipment versions: Reference, Style, FR and Xcellence. The last two, just like the 2017 Leon, are at the same level in terms of equipment but differ in their approach. The FR version has a sportier approach and the Xcellence more luxurious and comfortable.

As for petrol engines we will have the 1.0 three-cylinder engine in versions of 75, 95 and 115 hp - the first atmospheric and the other two turbocharged. Later will come the new 1.5 TSI EVO 150 hp four-cylinder. In the diesel versions, the three-cylinder 1.4 TDI will disappear, making way for the 1.6 TDI, whose pollutant emissions are lower. Finally it seems that the brands begin to leave aside the "little joke" of downsizing. There will also be available a version of compressed natural gas (CNG) called 1.0 TGI, with a power of 90 hp. The manual gearboxes will be five-speed for versions up to 95 hp and six-speed for the rest. As an option will be available seven-speed DSG gearbox.

It incorporates elements of equipment typical of vehicles of higher segments, such as the mobile charger system by induction, the opening system, locking and keyless start, the Full LED headlights, the emergency braking assistant in city or adaptive cruise control. Improvements have also been made to the parking sensors and the rear view camera, with better resolution. The most complete infotainment system will have an 8-inch screen, with Full Link and an optional Beats Audio sound system, which will use a digital signal processor (DSP), 6 premium speakers, subwoofer and an 8-channel amplifier with 300 watts of power.

This generation is not expected to launch a 3-door (SC) or estate (ST) version, only the 5-door version will be available.
