I don't know what it is about the Russians, but their off road creations surprise me more and more every day. This time I present you the Russia Sherp, a creation of the Russian engineer Alexei Garagashyan. Aesthetically it will catch your attention because of its straight shapes and huge wheels. Everything makes sense, it's a totally practical design.
With the huge wheels it floats and has an optimal grip at all times on slippery or very broken terrain. It's like a giant cockroach that you don't even know how or why it has reached the 27th floor of a skyscraper.
To give you an idea, the colossal size of the tyres is 160 cm, and they incorporate a self-inflating technology that adapts to the needs of the terrain or the situation.
This model only reaches 45 km/h (perfect for escaping a zombie attack) but limited if you're looking to go really fast. It's not a vehicle to race, it's a truck to cross inaccessible places successfully. It can navigate on water at 6 km / h and overcomes slopes of more than 30 °.
The engine that moves this peculiar truck is really small, it is a 1.5 litre diesel engine that generates more than 44 HP of power. This vehicle has a five-speed manual gearbox and the first gear acts as a reduction gear. This engine drives all four wheels and provides the necessary power to get this vehicle out of any trouble. One of the technical tricks is its light weight, only marks on the scale 1,300 kg (empty). The fuel tank capacity is 60 litres and we don't know the average fuel consumption.
The dimensions of the Russia Sherp ATV are very compact despite being a truck. We are talking about 3.4 meters long, 2.5 meters wide and a height of 2.3 meters. Thanks to its weight and size it can face places where you would never imagine that a truck would pass, plus its turning system is also unique. The system is very similar to the mini excavators that we see in the works, turning the wheels on one side or turning the wheels on the other side, so you get fast turns without relying on a steering rack or an axle that rotates.
It has two front seats and the rear is completely diaphanous and is intended for loading or installation of various systems that the customer chooses.
For as little as $50,000 ($45,000) this amphibious off-road truck can be yours. I know it is not a "popular" price, but we are talking about a vehicle capable of crossing a lake or a desert without many problems. You can't miss this awesome amphibious truck in the middle of the Russian forest, of course, crossing a frozen lake.
