41 million euro fine for 95 Volkswagen, Audi and SEAT dealers

The total fine amounts to 41.13 million euros to be distributed among all the offenders. The CNMC considers it proven that all the dealers involved agreed on maximum discounts, exchanged strategic information and imposed internal sanctions for those who did not comply with the agreed discounts, controlling these maximum discounts through audits provided by the also punished consultancy firms.

Certain concessionaires involved in the cartel in the first instance were exempted from sanctions after their participation in the cartel was not accredited, while data are still being collected to apply sanctions to others. The CNMC recalls that those who feel harmed by the actions of the cartel can file a claim for damages for this illegal practice.
