# How much does it cost to recharge an electric car (energy consumption and cost) [adj]

How much does it cost to reload a 'electric car? We try to clarify the costs of electricity to recharge the lithium batteries of an electric car (EV vehicle), to understand also differ from those of fuel petrol and diesel for conventional cars with endothermic engine.

We will go deeper how does the cost of the recharge change based on several factors e how much does it cost us to fill up the battery. Below we will see how much does it cost to fill up an electric car from a slower domestic AC socket to the super-fast Fast DC, how many km can you travel with a recharge, where you can save money and how much electricity it consumes and the cost per 100 km for the most common electric cars.

## Cost of electricity

For all we will refer to the following table, with the costs taken as a reference by the national managers and, for the home charging, from National Electricity Service. Below is the total cost of electricity based on the type of recharge.

## Electric car charging cost, kWh electricity price and how much it costs to fill up

The cost of energy for each kWh consumed can vary from €0,20 if you subscribe to a subscription Duferco up to the maximum of €0,79 if you recharge at the columns in direct current DC Fast Ionity (up to 350 kW of power for enabled cars) but discounted for some car manufacturers.

The reference costs of electricity can be from 0,20 € / kWh for home charging ei 0,50 € / kW for fast network charging Enel X.

## Hourly cost on the Enel X electricity column

From 1/6/2020 Enel X charges for socket occupancy once top-up is complete. You have 30 minutes to free the socket, after which you will be charged € 0,09 / min for AC outlets (Type2 and Type3a) and di € 0,18 / min for DC sockets (CHAdeMO and CCS Combo 2). ## How much does the refill cost of an electric car?

Il cost to recharge an electric car actual “depends” on various factors, first of all on the car given the consumption and capacity of the various battery packs.
This is why we have compiled this additional table which should begin to clarify the many doubts and greatly simplify the matter.

## How much does it cost to fill up an electric car

The table shows the car, the battery capacity, the average consumption and the cend of the recharge of the electric car according to the various charging methods possible today in Spain, information through which a quick calculation can be made to understand how much does it cost to fill up an electric car.

* Cost on the EnelX Fast Top-up network
** Cost on the Ionity network with promotion
*** Cost at Supercharger with no current promotions

## How much does an electric car consume?Consumption and costs per 100 km

Once established how much does a full tank of electricity cost e how much does the electric car consume it becomes much easier to establish how much do the famous 100 km cost me, also to compare this cost to a petrol or diesel car.

Having said that, we therefore bring you the cost per kilometer electric cars taken into consideration.

* Cost on the Enel X Fast Charging network (HPC)
** Cost on the Ionity network with promotion
*** Cost at Supercharger with no current promotions

## Less than €4,00 to travel 100 km with an electric car

From the consumption data reported for one hundred kilometers on various electric car models, it can be seen that they are necessary less than 4 Euros to travel 100 km charging at a point where electricity is cheaper, double if charging a home with the normal rates of the national energy operator and you don't get to 10 € x one hundred km in the worst case scenario with recharging at the network Fast by Enel X.

## Electric car vs petrol/diesel car cost comparison

If you use the fast charging network near the main Spanish arteries, during the journey, the cost per km is far lower to cars that use traditional fuels and, very importantly, all the energy used for these top-ups always has "Green" energy certifications, all the more reason to use it instead of traditional fuels.
